KINGHAM SAFARIS SAMBAR

KINGHAM SAFARIS

When planning a hunt in Australia, one of the most perplexing things is that Australia looks small on a map of the world. It’s huge, not just a country, also a continent. The variety is there, but some of the hunting areas and species are hundreds—even thousands—of miles apart. That’s one major difference with Kingham Safaris. Headquartered in Queensland, near the east coast, not far from the Brisbane airport, close to famous beaches, yet tucked away in the nearby Great Dividing Range.

Kingham is located in a remote mountain valley at the headwaters of two major river systems, perfect habitat for virtually all of Australia’s deer species. Fully 12 South Pacific animals—including axis, fallow, hog deer, rusa, sambar and more—are hunted from Kingham’s comfortable headquarters. Plus they offer a remote buffalo camp in the northeast corner of the Northern Territories, Australia’s real outback.

Kingham Safaris is a second-generation family operation. Bill Kingham and his two sons, Andrew and James, have 80 years guiding experience between just the three of them. This award-winning operation had put 126 animals in the Top Ten, far more than any other South Pacific outfitter, including some of the world’s biggest rusa deer. At headquarters, native species like kangaroos and wallabies are commonly seen. With luck, some visitors will see koala bears and platypus. And, to round out a wonderful Australian experience, they’re close to some of Australia’s most famous attractions, including the Gold Coast and Great Barrier Reef.

Great folks, great outfit, awesome hunting areas, Kingham Safaris is dedicated to showing you the best of Australia!
