SIERRA MADRE HUNTING
Note: This week's "Message  to Hunters" isn't written by Craig, but rather CBEO founder; Conrad Evarts.

Here it is April 13th and snowing vigorously here at CBEO headquarters in Helena, MT. This makes for a perfect time to share a little about a an outfit that can show you the best of Mexican hunting. Armando Klein operates Sierra Madre Hunting. One thing I'm sure of is it is not snowing on any of Armando's hunting areas today.

Sierra Madre Hunting will provide you the most complete variety of game species in Mexico. Armando has a variety of different locations around the country. Sierra Madre Hunting offers desert bighorn sheep in their Sonora & South Baja concessions. They can put you on desert mule deer in the  Sonoran Desert or ranches in Chihuahua. You can pursue their Gould’s turkey and Coues deer at the middle of the mystic mountain ranges of the Sierra Madres. If wing shooting is your passion, Armando will take you to the high plateau of north central Mexico for dove, scaled quail & waterfowl. Wild pheasants are available in the Mexicali valley area or you can choose to be immersed in the mystery of our Yucatan Peninsula jungle concession for ocellated turkey, brocket deer, white lipped peccary and several other interesting creatures.

Sierra Madre Hunting is experienced in serving collectors. You can hunt all of the new whitetail subspecies recognized by SCI: central plateau, Carmen Mountain, Central American, Gulf Coast, Pacific Coast as well as the Crooki desert mule deer and Baja blacktail

Their more than 800,000 acres of prime private hunting land, allow Armando to provide his clients with the best trophy opportunity along with promising true old Mexico outdoor experience.

There's something you notice after decades of working with guide's and outfitters. There's a certain joy you see on the faces of some, usually the best, when their client achieves the goal of a harvest. That shared joy is rooted in a passion for the sport. It's one of the unquantifiable characteristics in the hunting world and it's apparent on Armando's face in the photos and video below. There's a button below the video to send Armando an email. Send him a note, schedule a chat and see for yourself.

Have a great week,

BOTSWANA

Game Trackers Africa Rockwood conservation is happy to announce that we have obtained a wonderful concession in Botswana for Elephant, Cape buffalo, Leopard and Plains Game.

BOTSWANA – CH 2 (CHOBE 2)

THE CHOBE ENCLAVE:

Set in the north of Botswana, the Chobe Enclave is a private sector of the Chobe National Park which provides a remote and high quality free range safari destination along the scenic Linyanti river. The Chobe Enclave is a fascinating area of about 1700 km2 sandwiched between the Chobe National Park, the Chobe Forest Reserve and the Chobe River. The river forms the border with Namibia.

The Chobe Region is a biodiversity hotspot, boasting an array of ecosystems that support a diverse range of flora and fauna, wildlife, fish and birds. The Chobe offers an amazing variety of habitat; ranging from floodplains, baobab, and mopane trees and acacia woodlands, to verdant flood grasslands and thickets bordering the Chobe River. So much of what you find here, you simply won’t find anywhere else. Just a 90 minute road transfer away lies the UNESCO World Heritage Site, the spectacular Victoria Falls, offering more biodiversity.

From the winding Chobe River to the lush riverine woodlands and expansive floodplains, and the stretch of world-famous Chobe National Park on one side, you’re treated to changing 360-degree views. On safari with us, you simply watch the scenery unfold before your eyes as you meander thru the area, appreciating the calm Chobe River, it’s the wildlife and the birdlife.

Witness the last remaining mega herds of African elephants in the world, marvel at the near-threatened puku antelope found only here and in the nearby Okavango Delta and take to the waters to tackle the mighty Tiger fish! With over 450 bird species to spot, this region is a paradise for avid birders and nature enthusiasts alike.

The Chobe Enclave is home to several endangered species, making it an opportune destination for those seeking to witness these majestic creatures in their natural habitats. The African elephant, a keystone species in this ecosystem, faces numerous threats, including habitat loss and poaching all over; but here, your contribution to conservation and sustainable utilization to protect these gentle giants are crucial for their survival. And the Chobe National Park is home to the largest concentration of elephants on the continent.

In less than 1 hours from Kasane (your port of arrival), you’ll find yourself in the heart of the hunting area, teaming with elephants who are attracted by the constant waters of the Chobe river, as is the case with very many species on mammals. With the mammals comes the predators; the area boasts with great numbers on elephant (in access of 15,000 in the dry months), thousands of Cape Buffalos, abundant numbers of leopard and many other plains game species available on the list; such as Kudu, Eland, Duiker, Impala, Steenbok, Zebra,Warthog & Ostrich.

One should realistically expect to hunt an Elephant bull of age 35 years plus with tusks reaching 60lbs, but coupled with the high probability of breaking 70lbs and even 80+ pounds. A variety of these big bulls frequent the area regularly for obvious reasons (foraging & water supply). A hunter will run into numerous bulls on a daily basis, offering ample opportunity to harvest an awesome bull.

Cape Buffalo are abundant in numbers with very many hard bossed bulls roaming the area. Finding bulls in access of 42” is not uncommon at all in this awesome free range hunting area. A high Leopard count in the area, coupled with the low hunting quotas and limited hunting ensures the existence of huge Tom Cats roaming the Chobe Wilderness, who are not shy of humans, promises an extremely high success probability in CH2. The habitat is perfect, inhabited with plenty prey species, setting the stage for a very exciting and successful cat hunt.
