It’s not a big secret that I’m more a hunter than a fisherman. But I do know a good camp and outfit when I see one…and I know what a great time is when I’m having it.  That’s why I’m so proud to have Armada Sportfishing and Charter as a member of our CBEO family. Armada is based out of Cabo San Lucas on the Baja Peninsula, with the big, beautiful Strictly Business as their flagship.

Armada is owned and operated by hunters. As is so often the case in my world, our friendship goes back to conversations at DSC and SCI conventions. As a hunter, I like that they’re fellow hunters. They also know how to hunt for big fish, as do their experienced captains and crews. Their hunting—oops, fishing area—is the waters of Cabo, one of the world’s best sport fisheries, famed for legendary game fish: Striped, blue, and black marlin; dorado, sailfish, swordfish, wahoo; yellowfin tuna, grouper, and more. Follow the link to their website, and one of the first things you’ll see is a “mileage chart,” a dozen major fish species on the left, the 12 months of the year on top. The fishing for each species “graded” by month. From Low, to Fair, to Good, to Best. Honest, from folks who know their waters.

Donna and I were just there in early November, best few days of fishing I’ve ever had in my life. We slammed the tuna, caught some awesome wahoo, I got lucky with a big dorado…and everyone boated a nice marlin. Most of all, we had fun. Strictly Business is the best “camp” I’ve ever shared, on board meals excellent, fishing tackle first class, and Captain Ruben and his team knew where to hunt for big fish.
