To our way of thinking, hunting is meant to be fun and interesting. Let’s be honest, We’re not flying to Spain to hunt our next meal. The number one way to make something fun is to know exactly what you’re doing and know you’ve put the odds in your favor. The number one way to make hunting interesting is to see plenty of game. Caza Planeta has both of these factors completely under control.
A few days in the mountains with Samuel Muñoz will be pleasant, fun and interesting. Samuel is a third generation Spanish guide and outfitter. He’s young, which gives him the advantage of energy. He started young, which gives hime the advantage of wisdom beyond his years. CazaPlaneta is one of the most prestigious outfitters in Spain; boasting over thirty years of experience countrywide. They also have a reputation for taking many of the biggest ibex trophies in Spain.
The mission of CazaPlaneta is to”…to offer the hunter a selection of carefully chosen hunting destinations, creating unforgettable hunting days.” Experience on their hunting areas make this possible. Samuel and company outfit Spanish outfitting in the right order, they own or control their areas for decades and then offer hunts on those areas. The wrong, and more common order, is to sell the hunts then rush around trying to find areas to host said hunts.
CazaPlaneta is the product of long and hard work over the years. Founded by Luís Muñoz, back in the eighties, it was dedicated exclusively to the organization of Monterías. The company expanded in the nineties organizing hunts across Spain to include all Spanish game species.
When CBEO vets an outfitter, one aspect we must confirm is that the experience matches the marketing. Each night after a day with the prospective member of CBEO, we’ll return to our hotel room and comb through the website to confirm this is the case. Not only does CazaPlaneta have a great website, but the reality meets the marketing. Three generations of hard work and long hours created an outfit you can trust for all your Spanish hunting dreams.
Today Samuel Muñoz, generation three, is in the field with hunters much of the year. He’s committed to working as hard and as creatively as his father and grandfather to maintain the balance of game species across Spain while maintaining the prestigious reputation of the family business.
Where did the distinct name, “Caza Planeta” name originate? It’s a great story, but one you’ll have to ask Samuel when you see him in person.
