We still hunt the old way — on foot, spot-and-stalk, after mature post-reproductive trophies, across 80 square miles of private Camelthorn Kalahari. Free-ranging game, no domestic stock, no internal camps. The Lamprecht family has hunted this ground since 1984, and the warmth of a true family operation is what guests remember as much as the hunting itself. The vast majority of them come back, and we regularly welcome the second and third generation of the same families.

You'll hunt alongside Johnny, our resident professional hunter for the best part of forty years. Few people read this country the way he does; his bushcraft is a byword in Namibia, and he's appeared in the hunting press more than once.

We keep the numbers deliberately small: only one hunting party in camp at a time, two hunters to each PH at most, and no more than thirty hunters in a season. The game is entirely wild — none of it bred or selected for trophy size. On any given day you might see a few hundred head, or almost nothing. On land this vast the game moves constantly, and you never quite know what a day will turn up. Patience is the thing, and the old animals are worth the wait.

More than twenty species of plains game are on offer, with seasonal wing-shooting for the bird hunters. It suits the first-time African hunter and the seasoned traveller equally, and there's as much here for a non-hunting partner or the children as for the rifle. Where we hunt is malaria-free. Namibia itself is peaceful and easy to travel in — one of the few countries anywhere with hunting protected in its constitution.

Beyond the hunt, we arrange private photographic and sightseeing trips across Namibia — the dunes of the Namib, the Skeleton Coast, old colonial Swakopmund, the desert elephants of Damaraland, game-rich Etosha — by light aircraft or air-conditioned vehicle, with your own guide along.
