Shona Hunting Adventures offers personalized Namibian safaris built around two core passions: Family safari experiences and ethical, fair-chase hunting. Based at the exclusive 75,000-acre Byseewah Private Hunting Reserve, Johann, Ilouwna, and their team create memorable adventures for hunters, non-hunters, and families alike, combining authentic hospitality, conservation-minded values, and unforgettable time in the African bush.

Johann Veldsmann established Shona Hunting Adventures in 2005. Johann  is an experienced safari operator and dangerous game professional hunter. He grew up in tent camps across Africa’s wild areas. Nature was and is his teacher and the foundation of his commitment to conservation, ethics and adventure.

Johann’s experience also includes guiding photographic safaris. He enjoys curating safaris that bring families together while creating memories that last a lifetime. He and his team take pride in creating boutique style safaris that give the guest the experience they dreamed of.

Ilouwna joined the Shona family in 2016. She oversees lodge operations and client services. She and her team find joy in making Shona guests feel welcome and at home. Shona’s camps are designed with comfort and families in mind. They build on the safe and peaceful environment that is Namibia.
