Chris Bilkey and his wife, Peg, run Track and Trail Safaris as a small, personal outfit. Operating from their comfortable home on New Zealand’s South Island, they are conveniently located near several concessions that, collectively, offer the full range of New Zealand species. Chris’ specialty and first love is free-range hunting. He has exceptional walk-up tahr, red stag, and fallow deer, and it was Chris who enabled me to win the Gold Malek Award with free-range sambar and whitetail. Chris also offers banteng and water buffalo in northern Australia. He and Peg are long-time personal friends, and Chris is one of the best hunters I know.
